A Good Samaritan notified Howl of a Dog about a senior dog wandering a railroad station in Romania. Quickly, rescuers responded to the call. Once at the scene, they realized how dangerous the mission would be because the railroad was active, and trains kept passing by.
Heartbroken, sad, and helpless, Bobi lived on the streets for weeks. He slept on the cold cement and scavenged food from the garbage in order to survive. He struggled, but help is finally here.
Worried he might make sudden moves and suddenly get hit by a train, the rescuers lured Bobi into a safer place. They offered him food to try and gain his trust. But every time they got near him, he ran away.
Determined to help, the rescue workers followed Bobi everywhere he went. Soon, he realized the strangers were there to help. He also noticed the tasty treats they had, so he stopped running and came toward them.
Bobi limped as he walked. His left eye has a scar, too, so the rescuers drove him straight to the vet’s clinic, where he received urgent medical attention. The staffers also scanned him for a microchip, and everyone was astonished to discover he had one.
The entire rescue team hoped it would be a happy reunion. But when they called Bobi’s owner, the man said he didn’t want him anymore. He asked the rescuers to take him away and find him a new owner instead.
Bobi, aged 9, is a senior dog in his golden years. He deserves a home where he can spend his remaining years loved and cherished. And that’s what Howl of a Dog promised to provide him.
A few months later, Bobi embarked on a journey and traveled 4,600 miles to meet his new family. He didn’t have an incredible life in Romania, but he’s surely headed to the best one in the United States. Bobi is now with his adoptive family, living the life he always deserved.
