There are dog lovers out there who will tell you that their canine companions are just as useful as any police officer. This video of a Belgian Malinois taking down a suspect certainly proves it.
The footage, which was captured in the city of San Diego, California, shows the dog named Bo latching on to a man who was trying to get away. The man had led the police on a chase inside a stolen car.
It took Bo just a couple of seconds to assess the situation, board the stolen car, and bite the suspect’s arm. The K9 never let go until his fellow police officers had the suspect in handcuffs.
The takedown made the evening news, and CBS 8 San Diego captured the play-by-play. It’s impressive how Bo managed to end the chase and secure the suspect.
What’s even more impressive was, this dog’s tail wagged when the suspect was down. Bo’s handler said that it was a clear sign his dog was having a great time.
The dog specializes in criminal apprehension, officer protection, and narcotics. That’s an impressive CV, better than some in the police force!
On top of that, dogs have a keen sense of smell, they’re loyal, and they’re fast. It’s no wonder that police officers around the world are using dogs to help them catch criminals.
Good work, Bo! You deserve every extra treat coming your way. Thank you for your service to your countrymen.
This video is a great example of why canines are such valuable members of the police force. They can apprehend suspects quickly and efficiently.
Not to mention, they provide a much-needed sense of comfort and support to their human partners.
Remember that our furry friends are heroes every day, whether they have police training or not. Good job, Bo and team!
