Another good reason to own a dog is the fact they can do well with other animals. Dogs can offer great assistance for farm owners. There are also dogs specifically bred to work with cattle and livestock. So it’s no surprise when we see man’s best friend become close with farm animals.
This is a story of a dog and a horse who became inseparable buddies. They seem like a good role model for a remarkable friendship. So how did it all start?
Rebecca Gullholm was working as usual when she decided to let her dog named Orion explore the inside of a horse stable. Rebecca wanted Orion to be exposed to other animals as early as possible because she wants him to get used to their presence.
At that moment, Destiny, the horse, was at the stable too. She extended her neck out to reach Orion. The dog showed interest and tried to kiss the horse. From that moment on, Orion and Destiny became best friends.
Orion would always go near the pastures where Destiny is at. He would run back and forth around the enclosure to get Destiny to run with him. The two would go about this activity for hours on end.
One summer, when Destiny had an injury, Orion would always be there to provide emotional support. The dog would often visit the stable to see Destiny and make sure the horse has company.
It’s not hard to see why Destiny and Orion are good friends. They have very similar personalities. They are both curious, playful, and sometimes they can be very mischievous too.
Destiny sometimes would play with the ball Orion plays with. Conversely, Orion can be seen chewing on grass with Destiny. Their lives are much intertwined.
Rebecca lives alone, but because of Orion and Destiny, her life is more fun and interesting. She’s very thankful to have them as companions. Obviously, Orion and Destiny are also happy to have each other.
