The Yuletide season is that time of year when many children want to get their ideal gift. For many of them, this meant getting a cute puppy that they have wished for. Although not all children are able to receive one, a senior canine was able to do so for several reasons.
Cash, a 12-year-old Golden Retriever, received the puppy of his dreams for being a good dog.
Cash’s owner, Marie Ahonen, stated that they have always had two dogs in their home. Cash and Rosie, their Chihuahua, were great buddies who did nearly everything together. Sadly, Rosie passed away and the Golden Retriever was heartbroken by this.
Marie stated that she has seen a significant slowdown in Cash after Rosie’s departure. The dog used to be a lot of fun and enjoyed running around. Now, it was as if a gap was left behind when his buddy crossed the rainbow bridge and he just didn’t feel like enjoying life like he used to.
Cash had felt lonely for three years until he received his surprise.
Marie and her husband had no intention of getting a new dog, but when they learned that a family in their area was expecting Golden Retriever puppies, they knew they had to take one to their home. When the couple finally had the opportunity to bring the puppy they chose home, they wanted to surprise their adoring senior pet.
In a video, the couple documented their surprise. It began with Marie’s husband entering the house carrying a wrapped package. Cash dashes over to his father and tries to sniff the contents of the box. As he became quite eager, he most likely sensed what was inside.
Cash nudged the top off the package with his snout as soon as it was on the floor. A cute puppy appeared out of the package. The older dog, enthralled, rushed back and forth as his way of greeting the puppy. Jennings, the younger dog, is just as excited to meet his new friend.
Marie was moved by the entire scene. Cash hasn’t been this pleased in years. She even claimed that the dog’s eyes have a new gleam in them, and she knows that it was because he met his new best friend.
