We all know that longevity and good health largely depend on what we eat. This Rottweiler instinctively understands that, and this dog is helping us rethink our diet plans!
While we humans eat processed food full of preservatives and unhealthy fats, dogs generally eat a diet that is much closer to nature. Rottweilers, in particular, are known for their love of carrots.
Don’t ask us why, that’s just a given – they adore carrots. So much so, that this dog’s owners decided to give her Rottweiler a little test. This dog named Cody was about to prove that Rotties and their resolve are iron-cast!
Since Cody loves playing with a stuffed toy pig, mom asked him to choose between the pig or a carrot. They kept asking him, but Cody wouldn’t give a definitive answer.
Mom had no other choice but to go and get the pig. Cody immediately bit on it but released it just as quickly. Mom now understood that it was the carrot he wants, and nothing else.
This dog’s snack choice is not only healthy but also very low in calories. The average carrot has only 25 calories, while a single serving of processed food can have hundreds or even thousands of calories.
Carrots are rich in fiber, which helps with digestion, and they’re also full of beta-carotene. No wonder these dogs are strong, and they can see even the almost invisible stuff!
It’s no wonder this dog’s coat is shiny, his eyes sharp, and his intellect intact. No one can trick him, not even with his second favorite as a lure. Dogs like Cody are a great example of how we could all benefit from eating more natural foods.
So the next time you’re considering what to snack on, remember: carrots aren’t just for dogs!
