Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has a younger brother named James Middleton. He is well-known for his love of dogs. Ella is one of the many dogs that he lives with.
James is now opening up about how his dogs have helped him get through some of the hardest moments in his life. He appeared on the Sunday Morning Live show on the BBC channel, where he talked about his difficult struggles with depression and then how his dogs have helped him.
James has battled depression, but he confessed that his dogs, particularly Ella, a black cocker Spaniel, have been essential in his recovery. He posted on his Instagram account, where he shared a snippet from his Sunday Morning Live interview, that dogs don’t just transform lives – they also save them.
James explained in the video that dogs are really loyal buddies. During his difficult moments, he even stated that they have become his “constants.”
Ella has accompanied James to all of his therapy sessions since he received his diagnosis. James was hesitant to attend his appointments at first, but with Ella by his side, he gained confidence in accepting that he has a mental condition.
James went on to declare that he owes Ella his life, even though the dog is completely unaware of this. He also has several more canines named Zulu, Inka, Mabel, Luna, and Nala.
James is upfront about his mental health problems.
Last year, James wrote an opinion editorial for The Daily Mail, a newspaper in the UK, in which he discussed his mental health concerns for the first time. He confessed there that he had already started receiving treatment for his mental disorder a little over a year ago.
He stated that because of his mental condition, he couldn’t interact even with the individuals he cared about the most, such as his family and friends. Ella had been his regular companion through it all.
As a result, James and Ella now volunteer with the Pets As Therapy organization. Ella has also joined the same organization as a therapy dog.
