Dogfighting is an illegal gambling activity where dogs are used to fight against each other. The fighting dogs aren’t just the victims of this atrocious activity. There are also dogs used as bait dogs. Bait dogs are dogs used to make the fighting dogs more aggressive.
The teeth of bait dogs are usually filed down to avoid injuring the fighting dog, and they’re often chained. Bait dogs are used in training, and after they outlive their usefulness, these dogs are discarded and left to die. When bait dogs are rescued, they’re usually injured and riddled with scars on their bodies. When rescuers find bait dogs, they are typically abandoned and on the brink of death.
It’s also tough for former bait dogs to get adopted. In most cases, because of their traumatic experiences, they are usually deemed unadoptable. However, some people think that these dogs deserve another chance. These people know that a little love and care will go a long way. And, they’re often right in most cases.
A big pitbull named Grace was found tied to a fence. She had injuries all over her body, which indicated that she was used as a bait dog in the underground world of dogfighting. Thankfully, rescuers found Grace just in time. Grace was taken to the veterinarian to get her injuries treated.
Grace was even adopted, and her new mom showed her something different from the world she’s used to. Grace finally know what love feels like and what family is all about. However, Grace was reserved during the first few weeks in her new home. Grace was so anxious, and she didn’t know what it’s like to be a dog.
Grace’s new mom showed her love, and Grace finally figured out that her new home is different and that she’s finally safe. Grace started to open up and show her new mom her fun personality. Grace also showed her new mom how smart she is by being able to learn new tricks.
Despite having a very rough past filled with traumatic experiences, Grace still loves people. She also loves to meet and make friends with new dogs. Here’s a video that shows the transformation of a rescued bait dog to a fun-loving dog that loves to do tricks.
