Scott Poore is the founder of a clothing brand that helps shelter dogs, which is called Mission Driven. Recently, he also became Queen’s hero.
Queen is a three-year-old terrier mix who’s been at the Great Plains SPCA for more than 400 days. Before living in the shelter, she spent her days in the dumpster in one of the worst parts of Kansas City, Missouri. This gave the staff the impression that Queen’s life couldn’t have been any better before they got her.

The shelter staff hoped that they would immediately find Queen a home. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. They tried several ways to help Queen find a family, but nothing worked. So, when Scott heard about Queen’s story, he contacted the shelter to offer some help.
Scott thought that he needed to do something outrageous so that people’s attention would get drawn to Queen. That’s when he came up with the idea of living in the kennel with the pup. Scott pitched it to the staff. They thought that although it’s crazy, it might work.
On Tuesday, Scott moved into Queen’s kennel. He set up his desk, chair, and made the room look a bit like home. Since then, Queen has been getting lots of attention.

Scott describes Queen as a people’s dog. According to Scott, Queen prefers a human’s company than other animals, which is why she’s thrilled to have him around. She loves to play tennis ball and tug-of-war with him. That’s why even if Scott brought his laptop with him, he could hardly work.
Although Scott said that he loves the pup and that it’s a very nice shelter, he admitted that it wasn’t the best place to spend a few days at. Even at night, dogs keep barking. This means that the animals there don’t get to have a deep sleep.
Thankfully, after spending eight days in the kennel with Queen, the pup finally got adopted. Scott is very proud that he played a role in finding Queen’s forever home. He also hopes that this story will help more shelter dogs.
