Dogs with physical deformities are the least favorite to be adopted at the shelters. Sadly, they are also put on the kill list because they are considered unadoptable.
Thankfully, there are kind-hearted people out there who are willing to embrace the dog’s physical disabilities and are eager to give them the best life experiences.
One lucky dog who got a second chance in life is Dill.
Dill and his siblings were brought at Fetch Wisconsin Rescue after Christmas. At first, Dill’s physical deformity is not noticeable. Dill’s front left leg is deformed.
Dill hops on his three legs to move around. He is still an active and playful dog despite his disability.
Jess Street and her 6-year-old daughter Athena are planning to put a non-profit community organization called “The Kindness Tribe.” Its mission is to change lives. Jess wants a therapy dog to be part of her team.
Jess learned about Dill from a friend who volunteers at Fetch Wisconsin Rescue. She felt that Dill is the perfect dog for her team.
However, their distance from each other is a hindrance.
Call it luck; the flight fare dropped to almost nothing. People also helped Jess to raise money to adopt Dill and bring him to Florida. Jess didn’t even have to worry about her stay in Wisconsin. Everything has fallen into place!
Jess is so happy to bring Dill (now named Doc) in Florida to be part of the organization that she is starting. Dill will undergo therapy dog training to help Jess and her team to change lives.
Dill must be given a chance to prove that they can do beyond their disability. In all forms, dogs are capable of being a friend, a helper, and a cheerer.
Way to go, Dill! Inspire people with your one-of-a-kind story!
