Dogs are selfless creatures. They will never have second thoughts in risking their lives to protect the lives of their owners. That’s how loyal they are.
We have already heard a lot of stories about dogs sacrificing their lives to save someone. Dogs are either killed or injured severely after protecting their humans.
Mack, a 3-yo Boxer, spotted a venomous tiger snake about to attack Carmen, a two-year-old daughter of Jo Shaw, in their yard at Melbourne, Australia. Mack jumped to prevent the snake from approaching the toddler, who was playing at the trampoline. As a result, the snake bit Mack.
Tiger snakes are known to have a very high potent venom, which kills 40-60% of their victims if left untreated. Mack was bitten several times which left the poor dog paralyzed.
Mack also made sure that the tiger snake was killed so that it won’t target the young kid.
Jo was in shock after she saw her beloved dog lying on the ground, feeling hurt from the snake bites. She immediately rushed Mack at the local animal hospital for treatment. Thankfully, the antivenom was available at the hospital, but unfortunately, Mack has suffered kidney damage from the snake bites.
Jo has to raise 6,000 Australian dollars to pay for Mack’s hospital bills. It’s a considerable amount to pay, and her family does not have savings. Her friends encouraged her to open a GoFundMe campaign to raise the amount. Jo was overwhelmed by the response she got from the online campaign.
Jo raised more than she needed! She did not expect that a lot of people would help her in saving the life of her beloved dog.
Jo posted an update on the online campaign page that Mack is recovering well. He can’t wait to go home and see his family.
