Like all other dogs, An English Springer Spaniel loves to smell stuff. Now Taylor, like any other dog, enjoys running around and sniffing everywhere, but most importantly, Taylor loves to rescue animals in need. After the catastrophic bush fires in Australia, lots of koalas are in danger. So, it is one of Taylor’s jobs to track them and bring them back to safety.
Taylor trained for this courageous role when she was only eight weeks old. Now, Taylor is four years old and has plenty of experience in rescue operations. Taylor loves doing what she does, and not only that; she also enjoys it.
Taylor’s only job is to lead people to the koalas. Taylor knows what exactly to look out for as she sniffs. If Taylor smells a koala scat or a live koala, she alerts her human companions, and they will come to the rescue.
Every koala found by Taylor, the rescue team, brings that koala to safety. Injured koalas got sent into the Port Macquarie Hospital, where they treat any injuries the koalas might have. The hospital treated almost 30 rescued koalas during the bush fires.
How to save the koalas?
Tate, together with his wife, is very passionate about wildlife. His wife just gave birth to twins, so the couple became busier than usual. Tate and his wife still try to devote their time as much as possible to the koalas in need.
The koala hospital tries it’s best to keep the koalas healthy. Currently, they raised money for more than one hundred water stations for the koala habitat. The hospital strives to plan a koala breeding program to help rebuild the population of koalas Taylor’s act of heroism saved many koalas, but they all need the help they can get.
