Toni and her daughters, McKenna and Kerrigan, were all looking at dogs online when they noticed Rosie, an adorable Golden Retriever. Rosie was on the kill list and the only way to get her out is if she got adopted.
Rosie’s story
When Rosie’s family passed away, she was taken in by the local shelter. Unfortunately, kennels were all full and nobody wanted to adopt Rosie. The shelter had no option but to put her on the kill list unless someone wanted to take care of her.
Toni and her daughters all fell in love with Rosie as soon as they saw her ad. The two little girls begged their dad to adopt Rosie and make her a part of their family. Luckily, once Stephen saw Rosie’s picture, he immediately loved her and agreed to adopt her.
The whole family had their hearts set to adopt Rosie. As they logged in back to Facebook, their happy expressions were replaced with frowns as they saw that Rosie was no longer available.
McKenna and Kerrigan were saddened by the news. They thought that Rosie had already been euthanized but their mom, Toni had something to do with Rosie’s unavailability.
Forever home
Toni had secretly adopted Rosie and arranged for her to be flown into their hometown. The volunteers at the shelter were ecstatic since Rosie was scheduled to be euthanized the next day.
The next day, Toni went to the hangar to pick Rosie up while Stephen distracted the kids and walked around a nearby park. Rosie was a bit nervous as the plane landed but she calmed down once she was in Toni’s arms.
A few moments later, Toni brought Rosie to the park where Stephen and the kids were. As soon as McKenna and Kerrigan saw the pup, they immediately knew it was Rosie.
After a few tears and many thank yous, they all went home to introduce Rosie to their other dog, Ziggy. Rosie and Ziggy formed an instant bond and began playing at the moment they met.
