Nothing is more endearing and uplifting than the reunion of a missing dog and its owner. If you’ve seen clips of such an event, it’s clear that dogs and humans were meant to be together. Dogs keenly remember their beloved owners even if they have not been together for a long time.
A man reunited with his dog that had been lost for days in the snow. Prepare your tissue because this story is really an emotional one.
Salty, a seven-year-old dog, escaped from her family’s home a few days before Christmas. Roger Jacobs, Salty’s 68-year-old owner, immediately began searching for his lost pet, but the search proved challenging.
According to Jacob Anderson’s daughter, Becky, the family initially believed that Salty had vanished after chasing a deer. Her relatives spent the night traveling around the neighborhood in search of her. They even attempted to locate the dog’s paw prints.
Becky claimed that her father felt as if he had been shot in the stomach upon learning the enormity of the situation.
Roger and his family have been hunting unsuccessfully for about a week. Then, though, they received a disastrous phone call from Bill Lepley, a family friend.
Bill claimed to have seen a dog directly across the Yellowstone River. According to him, it could have been Salty. Becky didn’t want to get her hopes up. However, she drove to the spot to verify Bill’s assertions.
When Becky arrived, she immediately identified it to be Salty! William took the initiative to transport the dog to Roger. He allowed Salty to enter the icy field, where she met up with Roger in a dramatic and wonderful manner.
The unfortunate puppy’s front leg was injured. Because of her prolonged exposure to snow, her paws exhibited some signs of damage. Still, she was pleased to be back at home.
