This dog became a family after over two years at an Animal Shelter. Demi, the dog, had to spend more than two years at an animal shelter. She patiently waited 809 days at the Southern Illinois animal shelter before getting adopted into her new family.
Demi, a mixed breed female at the Helping Strays animal shelter of Monroe County, got home on March 7th. Helping Strays, which is in Columbia, Illinois, South of Saint Louise, reported that it was a long wait for Demi before she could find the perfect family.
Demi was known to be a sweet girl who wanted to get adopted. As stated by Helping Strays, Demi was left on the streets. All she had was her dog bed with her.
Since she was all alone on the streets, she had multiple wounds because of other dogs attacking her. Helping Strays gave her a new life by taking her to the shelter. They completely rehabilitated her and gave her a new life.
Just like all good things come to those who wait, Demi found her new loving and caring family, a place she can call her home forever. It was worth the wait for Demi as her lovely new owners adopted her.
Many people posted congratulatory messages after the animal shelter posted Demi’s adoption on their Facebook page. Demi’s long journey brought a lot of tears and joy to people. Others wished for a better and happier life for Demi and her new family, who adopted her.
This is not the only case where a dog has a family after spending years in an animal shelter. In Texas, a dog named Baby Girl, who had spent more than six years in an animal shelter, got a lovely family.
