Animal rescuers, Eldad and Lisa, came to help a terrified poodle named Scotty, who had spent five months living under a house. The two crawled under the house and tried to get him out, but Scotty kept running away. After several failed attempts, Eldad and Lisa eventually captured the dog.
The dog shook with fear as rescuers put a leash around his neck, but he soon began to relax as they petted him. Lisa decided to foster the dog and nurse him back to health. Scotty was shy and scared at first, but he grew more playful and affectionate as time went on.
He enjoys playing with other dogs at Lisa’s house too. Stray dogs are typically afraid of humans and do their best to avoid them, so when you see a stray dog, approach it slowly and quietly. This will help keep the animal calm and make it easier for you to help them.
If you approach a stray dog with your hand outstretched, he may think that you’re going to hurt him. Instead, try speaking softly and calmly while slowly moving closer to the animal until he gets used to your presence. Also, always wear a pair of thick gloves before approaching a stray dog.
The gloves will keep your hands from getting injured if he bites or scratches you. The best way to help a stray dog is to let it know that you are not a threat. You might also consider simply feeding the dog and leaving some water out for it in case it comes back later or you see it around town again.
And if you’d like to provide a little more comfort for the dog, you might offer your backyard or a corner of your house. If possible, try to find a local shelter or animal rescue group to help you deal with the stray dog. Of course, if you want to adopt the dog, that’s totally fine too.
