Dogs that are left to fend off for themselves in the street are often in bad shape. They are also very elusive and hard to rescue, which contributes to their worsening condition. Fortunately, there are dedicated dog rescuers out there who do everything to rescue strays that need immediate medical care.
A small female dog had been spotted in an expressway somewhere in South Korea. She was limping, and she’s blind in one eye. It has been reported that she’s been in the same location for five months. Some say she’s waiting for the owner who abandoned her.
A group of rescuers couldn’t bear letting her live like that for long. The rescuers informed the Korean Expressway Corporation about the rescue operation. After that, they set a large contraption that serves as a trap for the stray dog.
The trap worked as intended. The rescuers took a look at the dog and gave her the name Bom. After that, they rushed her to a veterinarian so she can get the much-needed medical care.
Bom appeared to be 2-4 years old. The vet hypothesized that she became blind due to something sharp impaling her eye. It certainly wasn’t caused due to aging since she is young.
Bom also had an exposed bone on her injured leg. She had to undergo surgery to extract the remaining bone shrapnels. She was able to use her leg again after that.
It was clear that Bom got ran over by a vehicle. She was staying at an expressway, and all her injuries implied she got hit. Fortunately, she doesn’t have to go through that horrible experience again.
A man volunteered to foster Bom while she heals. She managed to stay in his home with another very social dog. It will take her some time to warm up and get used to the new environment. Regardless, her current life is several times better than her past living condition.
