A woman named Emilie Tallermo tethered her five-year-old dog to a bench in front of the Good Life Grocery Store in Bernal Heights, San Francisco on December 14, 2019 before she went inside to get some shopping done. She was startled to discover upon her return that her pet was no longer where she had left it. Jackson, a black, gray, and white small Australian shepherd with blue eyes, was taken away by a man and it was captured on CCTV.
The distressed woman exhausted all efforts to get her pet back. She collaborated with the police to disseminate flyers that had Jackson’s photo and distributed them all over the city. Her friends also assisted her in posting the lost dog’s description and Emilie’s contact information on social media. Emilie also started the website www.bringjacksonhome.com, which offered a $7,000 reward for the return of her pet with the guarantee that there will be no questions asked.
Four months passed without any sign or clue about the dog until some people from Los Angeles County discovered him. The information that these people provided allowed the investigators to find out the name of the individual who abducted Tallermo’s dog.
Nicholas Bravo, a 27-year-old Palmdale resident, was arrested for grand theft on April 17. In a number of states in the US, the stealing of certain animals without the use of force is seen as grand theft. It also uses the actual market worth of the animal.
The employees of Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control called Emilie to inform her of the excellent news. The dog’s microchip matched Tallermo’s number, and her long-lost companion was immediately available for collection.
The shocked dog owner was unable to drive to the location. The investigator assigned to her case had to drive her to her destination.
During the heartwarming reunion, there surely was a lot of laughter and affectionate hugs. It was beautiful and Tallermo couldn’t be happier.
