Mother dogs, like human mothers, have strong maternal instincts. They will do anything it takes to protect and care for their litter of puppies. One mother dog even battled with a baboon in order to protect her puppies from harm.
Lulu’s life as a mother dog was never simple. Every time she became pregnant, her heartless owner would abandon her. She would later return, but not to take her back, but to gather all of her babies for sale. This was the pattern that happened and it was not good in any way for Lulu.
However, the situation drastically changed when a baboon attacked Lulu and her infants. She had to fight back to protect her children, which resulted in a big cut on her thighs. She needed quick medical attention to prevent the injury from worsening.
Fortunately, Sidewalk Specials, a dog rescue group, discovered what had happened to Lulu and immediately rushed to her aid. The mother dog and her four puppies named Sheep, Daphne, Bananarama, and Scooby, were brought to the veterinarian. During that time, Lulu recognized that she had escaped her life of agony and that a beautiful future awaited them.
The veterinarian healed Lulu’s wounds and spayed her as well. Her puppies also received care and attention as they waited for their mother’s recovery. Everything seemed to be a lot better this time for Lulu and her new puppies.
After being cared after by Sidewalk Specials, Lulu was adopted by a loving family. She was also scheduled for sterilization at Steri Drive II. Her tail wagging demonstrated her gratitude to her rescuers for saving her and her puppies.
Meanwhile, Sheep, Daphne, Bananarama, and Scooby are still awaiting the arrival of prospective owners who will give them permanent homes and loving families. Already eight weeks old, they appear healthy and clean. In the interim, they are in the care of Sidewalk Special until they are adopted.
