When Carter, a 12-year-old from New York, met Piper the dog on his birthday, he knew they were meant to be. And after spending many years together, Carter couldn’t imagine life without the dog. So when Piper went missing from their home, his world fell apart.
Carter and his family searched everywhere, and they even asked their neighbors and community groups for help, but to no avail. They were about to lose hope, but after a few weeks, April, Carter’s mom, received a message saying that a local animal shelter had found a dog that looked just like their missing dog. April drove to the shelter and jumped for joy when she realized it was really Piper.
April wanted to surprise Carter, so she brought the dog with her when she went to pick him up. When Carter saw his mom’s truck pull up at school with the family dog in the front seat, his eyes widened. Then he started crying when he realized it was Piper.
Carter and Piper both missed each other, and from then on, they spent every minute together. Our dogs are a really big part of who we are, and it’s difficult to imagine life without them. We also love our dogs, so when they suddenly go missing, it can make our world fall apart.
If dogs are not happy with their lives, then there is a chance that they might want to run away. Dogs also have a sixth sense of danger, and if they feel like there is any potential threat to their safety, they might leave their home.
This is especially true if you have a new baby at home or if there is some kind of change in the family dynamics that makes your dog feel threatened or unsafe in his own home. If anyone in your family tries to hurt your dog or treats him poorly, then he might also run away just so that person can’t harm him anymore.
