Max is an aggressive pit bull that was raised in Quebec as a combat dog. Since he was a little puppy, he has been surrounded by violence. He never had the chance to experience or give love. He only knew how to fight other canines.
Fortunately, he was granted a second chance to enjoy life. Dog Tales, an Ontario-based non-profit animal rescue organization, rescued him and took him in.
The personnel at the shelter supported by private funds were informed that Max was dangerous. When he was being rescued, he was combative and uncooperative. It was necessary to muzzle him since he would snarl and bark. It was likely that he would never be able to interact with other canines because of how he was raised.
Despite this, the shelter accepted him. They hoped they could change Max’s attitude. They first isolated him in his own kennel and prevented him from interacting with their other rescue animals.
The team worked with him every day with kindness and affection. Unbelievably, it did not take long for them to understand that Max was in no way hostile. They gradually introduced him to the other shelter inhabitants. Then, they found out that the former combat dog enjoys playing with their rescue animals.
Max has become so well-liked among the shelter canines that he has been given an important responsibility. When new rescue dogs arrive at the facility, he would be among the first to welcome them. He has become very adept at making the rescue dogs feel at ease in their new environment.
He becomes fast friends with the other dogs and leads them about the expansive yard. Max could spend many hours running and playing with them.
He has demonstrated to everyone that his background is irrelevant. He has shown that former fighting dogs deserve a second chance.
