What’s better than having a burglar alarm system and monitoring at home? What else but having a 90-pound pooch guarding your house 24/7!
On Tuesday afternoon, a burglar tried to rob a house in Orange St, Indianapolis, Indiana. He broke through the first-floor window and bewildered to see a massive dog guarding around the house. He tried to run upstairs on his desperate attempt to escape Roxy.
The neighbors who witnessed the incident immediately called 911. They also captured the burglar’s attempt to escape through the second-floor window. Roxy gave the suspect a hard time escaping as she tried to pull him back the house.
When the suspect finally broke free from Roxy, he fell two roofs while shouting “There’s a big dog!”. I.M.P.D. quickly responded to the scene immediately, and the police officers arrested the suspect by the time he hit the ground. The suspect sustained head and hand injuries, but they were uncertain if they got it from Roxy of from the fall.
Roxy’s owner Donnie Massing felt proud of his pooch. He told everyone he could talk to about her.
Massing had Roxy for about seven years and always been curious about how Roxy would handle such a situation. They recently had a baby girl in the family, and he feels secured having Roxy around guarding his house and his loved ones. He added that its a significant relief knowing that the guy got caught, and won’t be around here any particular time soon.
Reporters asked Massing how he felt about watching the video clip of the burglar trying to escape Roxy. He said it’s shocking to see it’s happening in your own house.
Donnie and his wife both worked their shifts at the time of the incident so no ones at home. But knowing the result made it easier to watch. They said the audio was just as captivating as you can hear the burglar yelling in terror the whole time.
