Senior dogs deserve love and care. And it is heartbreaking that a lot of them have been abandoned because their owners think they’re not cute or desirable anymore.
An 18-year-old Toy Poodle named Figgy was abandoned by his own family. Already blind and toothless, the dog could have met his ultimate fate if kindhearted people didn’t intervene. In the end, he pulled through and even found a loving family.

Figgy’s sad story
Figgy was in bad shape when he was surrendered to a vet clinic. He could have possibly perished if no one took him there.
By a stroke of good luck, Figgy eventually made his way to a shelter called Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, which is located in San Francisco, California. When he arrived there, the staff and volunteers were shocked to know the reason behind his abandonment. Apparently, his owner’s wife disliked him because she thought he was stupid.
It also appeared that Figgy’s former home didn’t have him for very long. It was possible that he had lived in different homes already.
Figgy found his home
Thanks to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, Figgy was surrounded by people who truly loved him. But it didn’t take long before the senior pooch received the sweetest news of all: he was moving into his forever home. Figgy ended up living in the home of a woman named Eileen, a hospice worker who will love the senior dog for the rest of his days.
Figgy’s story was shared on YouTube where it received more than 86K views. It also had a handful of positive comments.
One netizen thanked Muttville Senior Dog Rescue for helping the senior dog get a new lease on life. Another said that the people at the said shelter were all angels. A third commenter said that Figgy’s adoption story made her cry tears of joy
