When two white dogs suddenly appeared on an expressway, people who lived nearby had one thing in their minds – someone abandoned them to die. The residents had no proof but it was the only plausible explanation as to why there were dogs on the highway.
Everyone agreed the dogs were in great danger. When they started to notice that the pups chased after cars, they decided it was time to call for help. And soon enough, rescuers arrived on-site.
To prevent any dreadful event from happening, the responders watched the dogs first to learn more about their behavior. That way, they could lay out a plan to safely capture the animals. And while they did, a truck diver pulled over to feed the dogs.
According to the driver, he had been feeding the dogs for the last few weeks. He wanted to help them but the most that he could do is to ensure they always had something to eat. So every time he passed by the road, he stopped and gave them a can of dog food.
The rescuers tried to approach the dogs to see if they could get close enough to catch them. But like many others, they failed. The pups were too wary of people. They bolted as soon as they saw someone coming.
While the pup did not want to be close to any human, they continued to chase after speeding cars. They failed to identify the danger that surrounded them. And so, the rescuers agreed they could no longer wait any further.
With a little reinforcement from a few volunteers, the rescuers managed to catch the bigger dog with a net. They went after the smaller one but it disappeared into thin and did not show up until later that night. They exerted more effort but at the end of the day, they got both dogs safe.
The vets estimated both dogs were no less than a year old and they most probably came from the same litter. They were quite believed to have been abandoned when they both got sick. Thanks to the kind residents and the rescuers, they got their second and better chance at life.
