Young boys typically dream of action-packed professions like being a soldier, an airforce pilot, and, yes, being a police officer too. And for one third-grader from Strongsville, Ohio, this action-packed dream did not remain a dream forever. He actually had the chance to work with various police departments around his community.
This boy’s name is Brady Snakovsky, a boy who dreams of providing bullet-proof vests for his beloved K9 dogs. For his age, dreaming of a thing as big as this is undoubtedly impressive and commendable. And it clearly shows his gentle and natural heart towards these furry heroes.
His desire to provide bullet-proof vests for his beloved K9 dogs started when he was watching his favorite police show called Live PD. While watching the show, he noticed that one of his favorite K9 characters was not wearing any bullet-proof vest to protect it from speeding bullets. That is why he told his desire to his mom, Leah Tornabene, that he wants to provide bullet-proof vests for K9s around his community. And of course, being a child, he might have thought that these special vests are as easy and cheap to buy as his T-shirts.
Leah didn’t turn down her little boy’s dream and immediately searched for the price of bullet-proof vests. They both learned that each of these vests cost $1,200 per piece, which is too expensive for them. However, it’s a challenge that Leah was determined to conquer. That is why she set up a GoFundMe account to raise funds to buy bullet-proof vests for K9 dogs, which would ultimately bring Brady’s dream into a reality.
Even with its high cost, Brady and his mom were hoping that there are people good enough to help them with this dream. Fortunately, a lot was inspired by Brady’s dream, and generous donations poured in. The mother and son have raised $77,000 and used it to buy bullet-proof vests for K9 dogs who are giving their lives every day for their human pals’ safety. And one of the vests’ lucky recipients was Medon Police Department, who expressed their deep gratitude for Brady’s generosity towards their K9 dogs.
Brady’s bullet-proof vests have also made their way into various police departments around his community, equipping more K9 dogs to be as safe as possible.
